Lance T. Shaner serves as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Shaner. A graduate of Alfred University, he provides the business strategy and entrepreneurial spirit for the company. Under Lance’s leadership, the company completed over $750 million in transactions and has grown into a highly respected business group with over 2,000 employees in the United States.
Lance has established an extensive career in areas such as finance and venture capital. His areas of expertise include contract negotiation, acquisitions and strategic investment advice. He has achieved a number of successful initiatives including:
- Formation of a $400 million investment partnership focused on hotel investment and acquisitions
- The funding and development of a regional cable television company in Western New York and Northern Pennsylvania that was sold for a substantial profit
- Co-founded several oil and gas production companies with operations in eight states. Now publicly traded as Rex Energy Corporation.
- Developed the award winning Williamsburg Square property in State College, Pennsylvania. This development is a $32 million mixed-use project consisting of three hotels, two restaurants and two Class A office buildings. The colonial themed property was an immediate success and established a new community landmark.
In addition to his business achievements, Lance has proudly served in a number of leadership roles in his community, including:

- Past Co-Chairman, YMCA Capital Campaign

- Winner, Palmer Award for Philanthropy, 2005
As the Chief Executive Officer of Shaner, Mr. Shaner is responsible for the overall management of the company and setting strategic directions for the company.
